Alisa Leo's profile

Digital Booklet

The concept of this design was to create a booklet that highlights the importance of content by emphasizing certain text using minimal design to create a visual hierarchy. The main content of both articles in this booklet was justified to have minimal rags and rivers in order to attract the reader to the content without having word spacing being a distraction. The use of proportional spacing between paragraphs of the articles help create a simple layout on each page (no more than 2-3 paragraphs for each page) which gives readers nothing but the content of the article to focus their eyes on. The pull quotes to this booklet was designed to give a break for the readers from the content by creating disruption with a blacked out page with white lettering and bold expanded text. The blacked out page gives rest to the readers eyes from the previous pages that are presented on white paper. With the bold expanded white text, it creates a contrast with the background which helps elevate the importance of the content in the pull quote and create a visual hierarchy. The decision to name this booklet Crystal Content is to help interpret the idea that content should be the main focus of the work, paying little attention to the design. The minimalistic design to this booklet is used to help create an atmosphere that would go easy on the readers eyes so that the main focus for the reader would be to grasp the content that is presented.
